Step 1:  Sample Collection

 

1 to 2 cheek swab samples are collected from test parties by gently rubbing a swab on the inside of their cheeks. Millions of cells are shed daily inside your mouth and these cells all contain DNA, which will be used to perform the paternity test.

If you choose the Home DNA Profile Kit, you'll collect these swabs yourself - quick and simple. If you wish to use your test results for legal purposes, you will need to choose the Legal Paternity Test and one of our nationwide collection facilities must collect the samples so that the "chain of custody" is maintained.
